HOTDOGS

“The most important commandment is this: ‘Listen, O Israel! The LORD our God is the one and only LORD.  And you must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.  The second is equally important; ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.”
These two commandments are equally important.  You cannot love God without also loving others.  If our love goes up towards God, but does not extend to those around us, then we do not truly love God.

This is why we hand out hotdogs.  Every Friday night that school is in session, no matter what the weather, we are there.  We do not condone drinking in excess, but we are also not there to judge people.  When asked why, the reason we give is simple – “to show God’s love.”  God has given His love freely to us, so we want to give freely to others (even if it is only a hotdog).
It is amazing how many walls have been broken down simply because of a hotdog.  People have come to us (not necessarily us to them) to talk about God, religion, personal problems, or whatever else is on their mind.  We are not there to be preachy, but simply to listen and to share the truth to those who seek it.
